Amiable Anne, Sensational Sue, Perky Pete, Jovial James, Jesting Jeff, Decisive Dan, Brian the Brave and Adorable Amanda met at the Gympie pool for a chat. Part of that chat was about whre one should ride. Someone suggested Harvey Siding. However, Decisive was asked to speak, and he spoketh Eel Creek. So off we flew, over the highway up hill and down dale. The Brave showed off his bike and how fast it went, pasing all and sundry along the way. He also showed how his gears could clunk and refuse to change. Ah, the joys of a new black bike. Adorable decided that rather than cycle, we should admire cattle at slow speed. So Decisive took advantage and catapulted to the lead, taking Perky and Jovial and Jesting by surprise. The reality, it was about the only time Decisive was out the front. The Eel Creek valley was green and lush, with one cow preferring the roadside grass to its own paddock. Its movements put some fear into the cyclists. Jesting decided he could not make the last few hundred metres without a break, so he got a flat tire on the final straight. Perky showed his usefulness by holding Jesting's tube for a few seconds.

On the way back Decisive was languishing at the back as we passed Pie Creek Hall. Amiable, Jovial, Jesting and Adorable were well in front, with the Brave falling off the lead pack. Time for a move. Decisive passed the Brave and closed the gap. Adorable claimed she had nothng left in her as Decisive went in front of her, but of course, within a minute she glided by up the hill. Fun ride, lovely weather, good coffee at the Deck.
